You know how it goes: it’s the weekend, all your friends are busy with their own affairs, you’re bored and slightly inebriated, and what do you do: you come home and start sending e-mails you’ll later probably regret. Actually, I’m more of an SMS sender with this regard, but regardless of the medium, we all know how bad it feels the morning after when you’re afraid...
CampusLive wants to be a 24/7 RA (Resident Assistant) for college students all across the country by providing real-time information that they can use. For example, students can use the Food Finder feature that lets them find out exactly which restaurants near campus are still open for delivery, take out of dining in. They can read reviews from fellow classmates and even contribute a review of...

I’m trying to to come up with a decent way to introduce this - there really isn’t a sane way to approach this because the latest feature from Flickr, while fairly mundane in function, is borderline insane.
When I was on the high school debate team, about 15 years ago, using the Internet was considered strange, if not cheating. We used photocopy machines, print magazines and academic journals almost exclusively. That time in the world's history is now gone forever.

Semantic search engine Hakia announced a major redesign of its site today, including the addition of 'credible sites' to its search index. In order to create this index of trustworthy sites, Hakia is asking volunteers to submit credible, peer reviewed sources. Credible sites are currently limited to health and environmental topics, but Hakia is planning to expand this quickly. By adding...

Given Facebook's growing marketshare both here in the U.S. and worldwide, there's a growing concern that Facebook will soon morph into that other social network - one that many of us had happily left behind: MySpace. But unfortunately, hints of MySpace have been cropping up into Facebook lately thanks to things like new, tricked-out profiles and the recently launched video content. Is...
Social media is evolving. What began as a way to "hang out" with friends online has morphed into an entirely new platform for communication, information sharing, and marketing. Businesses are quickly discovering that if they want to reach the youngest demographic, Generation Y (born after 1979), they had best get online. But maintaining a web presence alone isn't enough anymore. According to new...
Ask.com has been through quite a few overhauls in its existence. You cannot deny their persistence, and quest for innovation in the search engine space, but unfortunately it’s bringing them very little in terms of market share.

Tokoni may look and feel like a run-of-the-mill social network at first glance, but as you dig deeper it becomes clear that there’s something different here. It’s difficult to explain exactly why it’s different than a typical blog or social network because the heart of their service relies on users posting and commenting, which are the same ingredients they all share in common....
Google isn’t only having to play the patient party in the U.S. in its joint search advertising effort with Yahoo. According to a story in Monday’s edition of the Russian business daily Vedomosti, Google must wait another few weeks past the originally expected decision day of September 22 to see its agreed $140m purchase of contextual ad service Begun completed. Russia’s FAS, or Federal...
