No, you can't just have any combination of letters for the first level

domain name.

The DNS (Domain Name System) is a hierarchical system, where a dot (.)

separates

levels of domains. .com is the first level, godago.com is the second level

domain names,

etc. This is done for a reason namely perfomance -- when a DNS server

doesn't know how to resolve

your domain name, it would go for .com first, then godado. Given that there

are not that many

first level domain names, it's relatively easy to cache them, and thus not

bog down root DNS servers.


I actually think you meant http://godado.UK, which could have been easily

possible (technically).


.com was meant to be for COMmercial entities, don't think it has anything to

do with .com extention for sub 64kb programs in good old MSDOS.
