Hi, Richard.

I stumbled across a company called "intelligent environments" who specialise in connecting
legacy systems to the web. http://www.legacytoweb.com (screen scraper blurb at
http://www.screensurfer.com/guide/g_top.html)

They've got standard interfaces for a variety of legacy protocols and a visual scripting
language to make it all easy to build. However, I was never utterly convinced by them.
Their system is very NT-centric and ultimately I just don't trust NT to run a web farm
24x7 the-end. But they do have a long long history and a reasonable client list...

The three tier marketplace is exploding. They're all theoretically competing on level
ground: the EJB spec (still fuzzy, I heard). If you have a legacy relational database
which does speak ODBC you can map it into your wonderful 3-tier world using toplink from
http://www.objectpeople.com
other 3-tiers systems like ATG dynamo have their own proprietary version.

Any use?
