After the umpteenth non paying customer, I transferred all my out of date
invoices to Dun & Bradstreet Debt Collectors - for �25 or a percentage of
the outstanding amount they chase and collect the money for me.

Works in most cases - D&B send a letter, client pays up - sometimes it goes
as far as D&B threatening legal action, but no-one has got that far yet.

If D&B don't get any money then you don't pay them - easy.

Obv it's better suited to larger debts, and some may feel it is a little
heavy handed - but if someone has owed you 3.5K for 6 months it's worth a
try :o)
