there's probably something in the small print that says while they may
promise a 24 hour response, due to technical reasons, etc, etc, this is not
part of the contract and users accept that.

Might be worth reading the terms of conditions of Web sites as when you buy
something online you confirm you have accepted them.

Which leads to another question... How many people actually read the terms
and conditions of a Web site before they order or progress further on a
site???
